Norton Peak unveils its first skeleton tourbillon and enters the world of grand complications

Following the highly acclaimed launch of its first Grade 5 titanium chronograph, the Valais-based watch brand Norton Peak is taking another step forward in its development with the unveiling of its Swiss-made NP Flying Tourbillon 44, equipped with a flying tourbillon manufactured by La Joux-Perret.

This new model marks Norton Peak’s entry into the world of grand complications and reflects the young independent watchmaker’s ambitions in the field of Swiss haute horlogerie.

With its NP Flying Tourbillon 44, Norton Peak continues to build out its collection by tackling one of the most iconic achievements in fine watchmaking. This choice illustrates the young Valais-based brand’s commitment to moving upmarket while maintaining limited production and a strong identity.

Much more than a technical exercise, this timepiece was conceived as a showcase of Swiss watchmaking expertise und Norton Peak’s ability to create watches with a strong personality.

A Flying Tourbillon at the Heart of the Movement

Invented in the late 18th century by Abraham-Louis Breguet, the tourbillon is considered one of the most prestigious complications in watchmaking.

Originally designed to improve the accuracy of mechanical movements by compensating for the effects of gravity, it has, over time, become a symbol of excellence, technical mastery, and horological refinement.

The Norton Peak Flying Tourbillon 44 will be powered by a flying tourbillon developed by La Joux-Perret, a Swiss manufacturer renowned for the quality of its movements. Unlike a traditional tourbillon, which is held in place by an upper bridge, the flying tourbillon is secured only at its base. This design offers an unobstructed view of the mechanism and highlights its continuous rotation.

A Skeleton Design to Highlight the Movement

The watch features a skeletonized Design intended to reveal the movement from every angle. Bridges, gears, and the regulating organ thus become design elements in their own right.

Powered by a hand-wound mechanical movement offering a 60-hour power reserve, the Norton Peak Flying Tourbillon 44 showcases its mechanics in a Balance between technical sophistication und readability. The entire watch has been designed to offer an immersive visual experience and allow the wearer to appreciate every detail of the movement.
